Smilla includes two lengths: top and dress. And with three sleeve variants it’s perfect for all seasons. There are two variants for the bodice where one is specifically adapted to be sleeveless and the other is meant for long sleeves and cap sleeves.
The neckline is finished with a binding or neckband.
The skirt can be gathered or sewn with pleats: two on the front and two on the back. For the skirt with dress length you can also sew side seam pockets.
Sizes: 62-146 (approx. 2 months to 11 years).
Recommended fabric: Knit fabric, for example jersey (cotton/lycra) with at least 30% stretch. The pattern includes a stretch guide you can use to evaluate your fabric.
Level of difficulty: 2/3 (confident beginner).
Format: PDF-patterns include two formats: A4/letter size for home printing, and A0 size for copy shop printing, note: only one sheet may be printed. The A4/letter pattern is 17 pages. The tutorial is included as a PDF-file.
Techniques: Sewing in knit fabrics, sewing a binding or neckband, hemming, sewing pleats, sewing a gathering stitch. All techniques are thoroughly described in the tutorial.
Note! You don't need a serger for this garment, but you can use one for most of it.
