Lykke is a comfortable t-shirt with a loose fit. A lovely go to pattern for everyday wear.
Lykke’s neckline is finished with a band. The t-shirt features dropped shoulders, sleeves at elbow length, and side seam slits.
This pattern is a quick sew that looks nice and stylish and allows you to choose from many different types of fabrics.
YOU WILL NEED:
- Fabric with at least 30% stretch. If the fabric has more than 80% stretch, consider sizing down. You can choose either light- or medium weight fabric. I recommend a soft fabric with drape. It could be tencel college, courtelle jersey (not too stiff), or jersey made of tencel, viscose or bamboo.
You can also sew in fabrics that have more body than drape (for example cotton jersey or cotton college) and you will then acheive a more boxy look. There’s no right or wrong, choose what you’re most comfortable in.
- Framilon tape (clear elastic), to stabilise the shoulder seams. If you don’t have framilon tape you can use a 1 cm (3/8”) wide strip of light-weight fusible interfacing, or a strip of light-weight woven fabric.
Useful to have: Aqua glue marker, tape measure, fabric scissors, pins/clips, iron, and a sewing machine with coordinating thread, plus a suitable needle for the fabric. For knit fabrics it’s usually recommended to use stretch needles.
Note! You don't need a serger for this garment, but you can use one for some steps.
